Very impressed
I very rarely make ‘real’ gravy from meat juices due to the fat content. However the OXO fat separator has completely changed my mind. This is the first time I have used such a product and have got to say, I’m very impressed. The gravy came out delicious, full of flavour with no traces of fat. I would highly recommend this product.

Fat separator
This jug is a nice size and sturdy. It is easy to use. The fat separates at the top and then you can use the gravy/stock from the bottom, pouring it out from the spout. Very easy to wash and store away.

Fantastic product
This is a great product. You can put all of the bits from the pan into the separator, it works very quickly and performs exactly as described to make the fat rise to the top, you then pour the required liquid out, the strainer catches all the bits and nothing gets through, leaving only the liquid to be used for cooking. The quality is fantastic and there are no signs of wear and tear even after multiple uses and washes - it can be washed in the dishwasher which is really useful. The stopper can be placed in the holder on top of the product which is really useful when the product is being used. The measuring lines are really useful and haven’t faded at all.

I found the fat separator fairly easy to use. It separated the juice from the fat well, but I found washing up the jug a bit of a faff.

Yep, it's a jug!
Does the job. Fat rises to the top naturally so they have put the spout at the bottom. Best feature is the built in filter in the lid.

Useful tool to cook healthier food

Useful
When using this, the thing I liked most and was most useful was the strainer on top. It was great at catching all the bits from the gravy, leaving the gravy lovely and smooth. I don't think the fat separator part worked that well for me.

Oxo fat separator jug
In terms of functionality is does the job, how ever I would say that it’s slightly annoying that the black top does not click into place/ rubber stopper is loose as they can fall off in storage. Would also like a better pouring spout as jug can then be used for other kitchen needs.

Amazing gadget, so simple.
I wasn't sure this was going to work as there was very little good stuff and mainly fat from the beef I cooked. The example picture showed the spilt the other way around. It looked as though the fat was going to go up the spout as it was leaking in to the spout, see my picture. However, when I removed the bung and started pouring, the flavoursome good stuff poured first, leaving the fat in the jug. I was really impressed. It was just so easy to separate and not at all messy. Will definitely be using this every time I cook meat.

Gravy made easy
I found this jug particularly useful when roasting a joint of meat and then making gravy afterwards. The fat floats to the top and is separate from the gravy that is poured out, making it far less greasy than usual.

Perfect for Sunday roasts
We got this just in time for our Thanksgiving meal. It worked great and did the job. You have to wait a few minutes for it to separate obviously but it worked brilliantly. However our only complaint would be that I wish it was bigger as we go through a heck of a lot of gravy. It was easy to use and very easy to clean, which was a massive plus. All in all, best fat separator I’ve used as it didn’t break even with hot fat poured into it.

If you make home made gravy! Get one
I’ve always wanted one of these jugs, but never found the urgency to get one. I frequently make my own gravy when cooking and always try and scoop the fat out of the tray when making the gravy that can be time consuming and have burnt my hands on some occasions and not getting the fat out and making the gravy greasy This jug solves all those issues. Allows you to filter any bits with the filter on the top and separates the fat and the full of flavour gravy or sauce to pour on your food! If you love cooking and making your own gravy/sauce! This is a must have item in your kitchen!

Interesting device - works a treat
It’s a jug that.has a strainer on the top as a lid and a unique way of allowing the liquid out the bottom directly. The theory is simple. Pour your meat juices etc in and after a while the oil &fat will float to the top and form a separation. Once separated pull the handle trigger mechanism and the heavier fluid will come ot the bottom. I use mine when doing pulled pork in the smoker after the wrap and then I use the separated mixture of meat stock, apple juice and cherryade as a base for a sweet BBQ sauce. It’s easy to clean and you can easily flip the valve bar open to allow good flow through when washing. The two niggles I have are: 1. Very minor but you can’t remove the rubber bung valve part at the bottom of the jug to give it a very thorough soak when cleaning. 2. The strainer Lid doesn’t click in place and is quite loose. The amount of times I’ve dropped that part!!! However I am pleased I chose this jug over the older cheaper version with the long spout.

A product worth having
I love this item it is so easy to use, and works so well I don't know how I lived without this, it makes life in the kitchen so much easier and less mess, I also like how easy it is to clean the item a sponge and a bottle brush and the job is done, I also like that they come in different sizes so you have one for all jobs in the kitchen no matter how big or small fabulous
