Good for making gravy
This Fat Separator does a good job in keeping all the larger bits out of your gravy and helping to remove the extra bit of fat on top. It is easy to put together and clean, but it could be a bit bigger (it just about fits 500ml).

So easy to use
This is so easy to use. Just pour in your stock and watch the fat separate. The strainer on top removes that annoying job of fishing out bay leaves and other sprigs of herbs, which is brilliant. Then remove the stopper and pour off the fat free stock. Overall does a great job. Plus, I love that this is also dishwasher safe.

Super OXO Fat Separator

Nice idea - bit messy in practice
I was excited to test this as often spend ages waiting for things to cool so I can scrape off fat. The jig itself is quite small so it would have needed several ‘passes’ for my dishes. It couldn’t be filled to the top as it leaked and the mess/hassle of transferring from pan to jug and then to another vessel for the fat free output was a bit much. You have to pour slowly for it to work and I lost patience after a bit. I am sure the product will suit some people but I’ll be sticking to using the fridge to set the fat and scrape it off that way.

Oxo fat separator jug
Before I got the product I never even heard of one before. But now I can see it’s a great idea of trying to make our lives healthier by reducing the fat content in your food. As it says just pour your liquid in the top part and the fat gloats to the top and you thrr wet n pour out just leaving the fat behind. Found works with good that is runny though

Only the good without the fat
This works wonders in separating the fat from sauces and gravy, with very little effort, leaving only the tasty goodness to enjoy. It doubles as a smaller gravy boat for about 2 to 4 people depending on the portion size, even if you are just using gravy granules or cubes. It's a great little kitchen asset when you want to soak up the delicious juices from the meat or oils from potatoes without having to do extra work to get there. Would definitely recommend!

Takes the fat out & leaves the healtI'
This is such a simple concept but makes such a difference to your sauces and gravies I make my gravy using the water which I've cooked my vegetables in and so it ss full of healthy vitamins. But I always worried about the amount t if fat that was in it. I like to add the flavours from the cooked meat and roast potatoes but know how bad this oily fat is for you. This little gadget is a saviour! It quickly separated the fat from the gravy so simply. You just pour out the flavoursome gravy and viola, your meal is complete. I don't really use measurements for gravy but this will come in handy for making other sauces which need to be more exact. Also this is dishwasher safe so you don't even have to get your hands dirty ! Lastly, it's a great size to store... Small enough to fit in those little nooks and crannies in your cupboard but big enough to make a decent sized gravy !

Fantastic Jug

Small but sturdy
This is a good measuring jug, though I am not sure how precise the measurements are (not all jugs are equal in that regard). However, it is a very lightweight kitchen item, thus easy to use. I appreciate the removable strainer - one less sieve to scrub! The problem I have is that you need to let the liquid sit a while for the fat to separate, and even once it has, it becomes hard to get all the juices out without some of the fat coming too (physics of pouring). That being said it is far easier than trying to skim the fat off the top of a pot with a spoon. I found that the jug is not dishwasher safe, the markings started coming off after one clean in there, so will be doing it by hand from now on.
