My girls new favorite!

Finally !
I received Acana Wholesome Grain Large Breed Adult Receipe from Home Tester Club as part of a test and review. This has been a blessing. Our dog is almost 7 and recently has become finicky. She loves this! It's a good sized bag, 22.5 pounds. She had no issues during the transition from her old brand to this one. Highly recommend this.

Diverse ingredients
When I first look at new food for my dog, I don’t look at the outer packaging design, I look at the ingredient list. I like how the first ingredients listed are chicken and Turkey and also on the list are chicken liver. Organ meats were a source of vital nutrients in our dog’s ancestors diets and I think it’s important to incorporate these in my dog’s diet. I also appreciate that the moisture content is 12%, which is slightly higher than other foods I’ve seen. That being said, there is one thing that all kibble dog foods have in common and this one is no different, and that is that the carb content is conveniently missing on the packaging. That is because all kibble by definition is made with a large amount of carb content in order to hold it in kibble form during the 400 degrees of baking it goes through. This in itself is worrying, but cannot be avoided in order to have a shelf-stable product. Despite this, I think Acana is a top contender for kibble dog foods.

Worth the try
We have used ACANA Wholesome Grains brand on and off over the years for our dogs. Made in the USA with quality ingredients and better nutritional ratios, less carbs. It's fairly priced considering. Many pet food brands will substitute vegetable proteins for animal proteins in order to keep the numbers up and their cost down, by doing so they deprive our K-9 friends of the essential nutrients, amino acids that are only obtained through their diet. I took a look at the amount of servings rather than price per pound. It's not cheap, I get criticism from friends and family... The "I've always used cheapo food and my dogs are fine" argument comes out every time. Well my dogs are part of our family and they deserve good food the same as their bipedal siblings. Knowing the brand, and seeing all the good stuff in the ingredients, it is worth the try and nice that they have a variety of proteins available in addition to the usual chicken for those that have allergies and sensitivities.

Acana Wholesome Foods - Dog Food
I am truly shocked at how well our dog, Max, loved this dog food! He is very picky and we’ve only been able to feed him one other kind. He has a very sensitive stomach and this didn’t bother him at all. I highly recommend you give it a try!

High Quality Dog Food my Dogs Love
Acana dog foods are notorious for having excellent ingredients and this variety of kibble is no different. Lots of high-quality ingredients and none of the fillers that cheaper dog foods include. I have 3 large dogs and all of them loved it! It was easy to gradually switch them over to this food with no tummy issues. Definitely a 5 start top tier manufacturer and dog food.

My Rottweiler is currently on the Iams large breed dog food. So when I got the Aracana Wholesome dog food. I mixed 2 cups of Iams and 2 cups of it together for her. She seemed to like it well. She also has more energy, which I did not think was possible. And her shedding was less during the trial! Overall it was a great brand!!

Great dog food for large breed
I think this is great dog food for large breeds. My dog enjoyed the taste, she loves chicken and turkey. As a dog owner, I liked the ingredients of the food, and that there are no artificial flavors. colors, or preservatives. I am always looking for food that helps with joints (as a golden retriever owner) and digestion. This food helped with both. Highly recommend this to any dog owner!

New dog food
So I haven't been using it for a long time, because I am transitioning my dog into it gradually. But he seems to like it. There would be days that he would not eat, but every day so far, he eats everything in his bowl, so I guess that's a good sign. I have noticed that his coat seems a little shinier, so makes it look so pretty. So far so good.

My guy loves it but I do add something every once in a while to change up the flavor. I will add fresh meat, juice from the meat or hot water. So far so good.. I will buy again and get different flavors to keep him guessing

Dog & mom approved!
I absolutely loved Acana Wholesome Grains dog food! It has REAL ingredients that you know and actually can pronounce so it gives you a piece of mold knowing what your fur friend is eating. My dog devoured each bowl I gave him while wagging his tail the entire time so I knew I had to make the switch. Definitely recommend and will continue purchasing.

Old Dogs New Food
