We’ve tried on multiple different occasions to perfect making these but to no avail. From following the instructions perfectly to trying our own variation of methods.
It either comes out watery, milky but powdery or straight up just bland. The pearls are also kinda weird - chewy but also… goopy.
I suggest buying just straight tapioca pearls and boiling them yourself and other brands of milk tea powder. It’s yummier and also cost effective.

Not Quite My Taste
The Avalanche DIY Taro Bubble Tea Kit offers everything you need to make bubble tea at home, but unfortunately, I’m not a fan of the taro flavour. The kit is convenient, and the tapioca pearls cook well, providing that chewy texture you expect from bubble tea. The taro powder mixes easily and creates a smooth, creamy base.
However, the taro flavour is quite distinct, with a sweet, almost nutty taste that’s not to my liking. If you enjoy taro, you might appreciate this kit more, as it does capture the essence of the flavour well. But for those who aren't fond of taro, it may not be the best fit.
Overall, if you're a taro fan, this is a great DIY option, but personally, the flavour didn’t quite hit the mark for me.

My daughter loves these
I bought these for my step daughter as she loves bubble tea and it was a bargain at $8 for the pack at Coles. She loves the stuff and I’ll be buying it again for sure. Glad you can finally make it at home.
One of my kids absolutely loves bubble tea, so we have purchased a number of these in different flavours including brown sugar, mango, peach and taro but none have had more than one used. Great idea but I think a little more is require to make these popular at home.

Avalanche DIY Taro Bubble Tea Kit
The Avalanche DIY Taro Bubble Tea Kit has truly exceeded my expectations, earning a 5-star rating.
The kit's contents are well-organised and easy to use. The instructions are clear, making the preparation process a breeze. This makes it an excellent choice for both beginners and bubble tea enthusiasts.
The taste is exceptional. The Taro flavor is authentic and luscious, providing a rich and creamy base for the bubble tea. The balance between the Taro and the sweetness level is just right, creating a truly delightful beverage.
The tapioca pearls included in the kit are of high quality. They cook up perfectly, achieving that coveted chewy texture that's characteristic of great bubble tea.
The kit's packaging is practical and visually appealing. It contains all the essentials for a satisfying bubble tea experience.

Taro Bubble Tea Kit
the Avalanche DIY Taro Bubble Tea Kit is an excellent choice for bubble tea lovers who want to create their own taro bubble tea at home. The kit utilizes high-quality ingredients, ensuring an authentic bubble tea experience. The taro powder is flavorful and doesn't taste artificial. The tapioca pearls (boba) included in the kit have a good texture and cook well, resulting in chewy and satisfying pearls. It's a fun and engaging activity for bubble tea enthusiasts or those looking to explore making their own drinks.
The taste is not great. I love the convenience of it. But I rather buy an actual bubble tea than make this again

Flavour is too strong and sweet
I was excited to try this new flavour Bubble tea by Avalanche, but unfortunately was disappointed.
Pretty easy to put together and understand, following included instructions.
Ultimately I found the flavour was really overpowering (not in a good way) and it was sickly sweet to taste.
I like most of the Avalanche products and this is the first flabour I haven't enjoyed.
I much prefer the Caramel bubble tea by Avalanche.
It looks good and delicious but the taro taste isn't there. It doesn't taste like an authentic bubble tea. The bubbles are hard to prep as well. You could use it for aesthetic purposes tho, and the smell is quite lovely.
This definately isn’t the best instant bubble tea, as the drink is pretty lacking in flavour, it does have what I would say are the best instant pearls, this product is also quite pricey for the taste and effort to make, I wouldn’t reccomend there are better brands out there
The package is really cute the taste was good. When you chew the pearls you can taste the flavour, I liked how it came with straws that fit the boba pearls in it! Overall I really enjoyed trying this product!
A bit pricey for what it is, but it's more affordable than going out and getting boba. The servings are smaller than what you would normally get when out, but you're paying for convenience. The flavour was a miss, and I found it to be a bit minerally and it didn't all dissolve.
