Natural Instincts Bold Shade Achiote Auburn

I always have died my hair red for over 20 years and the brightness I go for is over the top vibrant and this product here gave me exactly that! Thank you home testers for sending me this.

I’ve always had trouble with red dye staying and this dye was no different. I love how my hair felt from using this product but it did drip out for awhile after dying my hair.

I have been wanting to color my hair. I was temped to try this before so I'm glad I got it. My hair is extremely dark so I was hoping for a color very similar to the on on the box. The color still came out nice but I was hoping for a little more color. I would buy and try again though.

This is a great hair color! I have color treated hair which is auburn/brown. I usually use a permanent color which is very hard on hair. I liked this because it doesn’t smell and isn’t harsh. It smells nice and makes your hair feel great. Very nice product which I will purchase myself.

Red is a hard color to maintain. I found that when I first did it the color was vibrant. After one wash I can start to see my old color coming through. It doesn’t look very professional.

This is a permanent hair dye that is ammonia-free and intended to be a gentle option those with darker hair. The box comes with a tube of cream color that needs to be mixed with a bottle of activator. There is also a pair of gloves and hair mask (for moisture/shine). You only need to wait 30 minutes after applying and there is no strong odor. It did not lighten my hair as much as I expected, but it did deposit a decent amount of color. My hair did not seem damaged from the process and actually looked very shiney. The only issue I have is that I wish there was slightly more product. I have very long hair (down to my butt) and I struggled to cover it all. Overall I am pleased with the results.

First, everyone's hair is different, so this may work better for you... However, for me, it was just okay. My hair is pretty normal but is very long and a little on the dry side. In all fairness, I also had dyed it dark several weeks prior. So, I am not positive about how much that played a factor. The dye itself was a good consistency so it did not drip terribly. There was very little "dye" smell but nothing I would consider a good smell either. I usually love the after-color conditioner, but again, it was just okay. Not much of a scent. The color didn't really show but did give it a subtle reddish shine that can be seen beautifully in the sun. For me, the color is constantly rubbing off. Even though I washed it thoroughly the first time through, I still ended up with a red pillowcase the following morning. I will also get pinkish hands after putting my hair up in a ponytail and days after, my hands still get pink if I tough my hair.

This is standard color as far as use goes, easy, consistency could be thicker to prevent drips but otherwise very standard. Color comes out even, nice shade of red on previously untreated hair.
