Tefal - Care For You First
A well made and useful product that helps both refresh and iron clothes easily with minimal effort. It works very well with shirts and t-shirts ensuring that you can wear them again - reducing the amount of washing and wear on your clothes. Once you have a routine it is quick and most of my clothes were able to be done in 10 mins on the steam function. Shirts work best with the weights but I even found some heavier weight t shirts could be done without - still producing excellent results. The product isn't the smallest, and as such to make it most useful for time saving - it would be best if you have a dedicated laundry space to leave it up or to allow partial dismantling in between use. The product is not noisy at all and only makes a low level boiling sound if you are stood right next to it. The running costs for the machine werent bad at all due to the well insulated nature of the cover. The sanitise function is very useful for coats/jeans/delicate items to help refresh them.

The Tefal Care For You First excels with impressive features. I frequently used the crease smoothing function, especially for my kids’ school uniforms. Initially expecting iron-quality results, I soon appreciated its time-saving capabilities. The sanitise program effectively refreshes jumpers, jackets, and jeans, acting like a dry cleaner at home. Sadly, while the build quality looks good, it feels less solid than expected for the price. My main frustration is that it doesn’t always clip in securely when closed. It’s user-friendly—hang the clothes, attach weights, and pull the cover over. The remote control simplifies operation, but a larger water reservoir and more hangers would enhance practicality. While it won’t achieve a military-standard finish, it’s excellent for everyday use. If you frequently wear suits or dresses, the convenience may justify the £499 price. Pro tip: after testing, I added aftershave to the water reservoir, making the clothes and room smell amazing!

Great time saving product!
The item was bigger than I first imagined before it arrived and my husband had to take it upstairs and set it up due to its weight as I have disabilities. However, once set up this is a game changer which saves me time and energy! A really helpful product which means I spend less time ironing and clothes. I have noticed clothes with ingrained smell despite repeated washing smell much better which makes me feel better throughout my day. My husbands work shirts also look great! I would definitely recommend and would buy a similar product in future, but hope this one will last me a long time.

Convenient, but not perfect
As someone who hates ironing, I was excited to try the Automatic Clothes Steamer System, which promises a hands-free steaming experience. The compact design is practical, but I would prefer a neutral colour like white or light grey. It would be great to steam more than three items at a time. The system offers various modes, and the remote control is convenient. However, the mode display should also be on the remote. I missed a drying function, as clothes feel slightly damp after steaming, and a fragrance compartment could enhance freshness. I tested a cotton shirt and two T-shirts, one of them previously worn. After two 20-minute cycles, the results were mixed. The shirt still had creases, and one T-shirt retained a subtle sweat smell. However, it worked brilliantly on delicate sweaters! Overall, it’s useful for certain clothing types, especially delicates. While it may not replace ironing for structured items, it offers a good time-saving alternative with potential for improvement

Time saver!
I have been using it on a regular basis to steam and clean my daughter’s school clothes - some come home not dirty but need to be cleared are ironed. The machine is perfect to iron it and saves a lot of time! I also used for my husband’s T-shirts - in 10 mins they are like new! As an improvement point, it would be great to have smaller hangers for kids clothes & hooks on the hangers for dresses - the one I tried fell off.

Good for certain items but bulky
Firstly the positives. The unit looks good, I loved the navy colour and is easy to use. The addition of a remote control is very handy. It worked well on my husbands polo shirts but I don’t feel the quality of finish on regular shirts was enough to be worth it. By the time everything was clipped , it is easier for him to iron himself and get a better finish. I hoped to use for my dresses, some of which crease in the wash but respond well to steam inf. however, most are at least knee length so are too long for use in the machine. If it was possible to have an extender just one more level to the poles it would have been a lot more useful for me.

My best friend
I used to hate Sunday evenings, preparing the clothes for the week ahead for the whole family meant I spent hours ironing the clothes... Not any longer! With this Tefal 'magic wardrobe' I am finally free. My husband's clothes looks absolutely amazing. I was never able to do such a good job with his shirts as the Care for me First does. My girls.school uniforms looks sparkling clean too. I am also a fan of the sterilising option, I used it for the pillows, już amazing!

Tefal Care For You First review
Besides the name of the product which makes you wonder what were they thinking, the product itself is quite amazing!! My scepticism for such a product was gone in the 10 mins after I started the quick refresh cycle on my least favourite shirt awaiting a trip to the launderers for ironing. My god I was surprised at the results. The wife can't seem to come up with ideas on what to put in it next!! The product does what it says, and does it well. I'm yet to assess the penalty one gets in terms of electricity usage but the hit to the wallet feels quite big when I looked up its RRP. If you can afford it, get it. A little bit more capacity (currently only 3 pieces of clothing) would have made more sense given how much time it takes to steam things.

No more ironing school shirts!
Since this arrived, I haven’t had to iron a single school shirt. The creases drop straight out, it’s fabulous. It struggled a bit more with a thick cotton weaved shirt, but the bulk of the creases dropped out and the shirt just needed a quick once over with an iron. Have also been impressed with the sanitise function on delicate items; sometimes items smell but are not clean, and this has been great at getting rid of unpleasant smells. The Care for You First is a bit expensive, which is a downside. Its footprint is quite large so enough space is needed for it to be stored when not in use.

Absolutely wonderful STEAM
I really can't get enough of how fantastic this clothes steamer is. I feel like I never need to go to the dry cleaners again because my dresses look so wonderful. My husband was worried about the size at first but now he really sees just how incredible the steamer works and the size is actually not so bad!

Amazing product!

Easy to use
This is a really interesting product. Easy to set up and use except that the remote has to be at the level of the screen at the bottom to use it which means bending down so not really fit for purpose. As a clothes steamer I found it worked better on lighter fabrics, a linen shirt didn’t look much different than before. The biggest plus was that jackets were really refreshed after wearing and body creases in the sleeves removed. As a normal household product it is a little bulky (it doesn’t collapse down completely without removing the side bars) and not any faster than normal ironing. Anyone who dry cleans often would find it a great addition.
