Hardys VR Shiraz Red Wine
Hardys VR Shiraz Red Wine is a well-rounded Australian Shiraz with flavours of sweet ripe plum and red berries, with a hint of spice.
I've had a lot of reds before and I didn't find this as palatable as those I'm used to I'm afraid. I had to dilute it with lemonade (I know!) to be able to enjoy.
Very smooth with a slight smokiness the follow the berry's. A hint of spice balances the sweetness well to give a generally well rounded red. Certainly recommend this wine, would pair well with red meat or slightly spiced food.
Hardys VR Red Wine is a smooth, approachable wine that offers great value for those looking for a consistent and easy-drinking option. The wine is typically a blend of Shiraz and other red varietals, creating a well-rounded profile that is both fruity and subtly spicy. On the nose, it presents aromas of ripe berries, with hints of dark cherry and plum, alongside a gentle touch of oak.
The palate is medium-bodied with a smooth, velvety texture. Flavors of blackberry, blackcurrant, and a bit of peppery spice come through, making it quite enjoyable for casual sipping or pairing with a variety of dishes. It’s not overly complex, but it’s perfect for everyday enjoyment. Its balanced acidity and soft tannins make it approachable, even for those new to red wines.
At its price point, Hardys VR Red Wine offers excellent value for money. It’s not going to impress the connoisseur looking for intricate layers, but for a simple, reliable red, it does the job well. Ideal for informal.
I recently had the pleasure of trying the Hardys VR Shiraz, and I found it to be quite impressive. This wine offers an exceptional balance of fruity flavours and subtle spice notes, making it a delightful experience from beginning to end. The prominent flavours of ripe plum and dark berries are complemented by a hint of pepper, creating a well-rounded and satisfying taste. Its smooth texture and soft tannins make it incredibly easy to drink, whether enjoyed on its own or with a meal. Hardys consistently produces quality wines, and this Shiraz is no exception; it offers excellent value. It's a very approachable Shiraz, and pairs well with food. Whether you are a seasoned wine connoisseur or simply seeking a reliable and enjoyable red wine, the Hardys VR Shiraz is an excellent choice.
I really enjoyed this wine, a perfect pairing for a Sunday Roast dinner. The shiraz is a smooth, easy drinking red. A fruity, relatively sweet red wine that would be great on it's own as well as with food.
I usually find red wines to be a bit heavy but this is quite drinkable. I would say you only need one glass, as a little richer than I would normally choose. Hardy's is a safe choice when choosing a bottle of wine and I would always consider buying a bottle, though I would probably prefer a Rose.
Lovely easy drinking red wine. It has a lower alcohol content (11%) than my usual wine and it did taste lighter and 'thinner'. A soft spicy taste which was not at all overpowering. I drank it whilst eating a mixed cheeseboard and the wine complemented it well but it could just as easily be enjoyed on it's own.
Hardys VR Lovely deep ruby tasting og plum and blackberry but also had hints of spice. It was smooth and went well with our charcuterie board. I feel it offers good value and a pleasant drinking experience.
I sampled this wine with family that are more experienced drinkers than me. I found the wine to be like a strong vimto but I am not a big drinker. The more experienced drinkers didn't recommend the wine and would not purchase again. They prefer wine with a greater volume of alcohol.
This is a South Eastern Australia red wine with an alcohol rate of 11%, sold as Hardys VR Shiraz Red Wine. I found this wine to be a lovely light red/wine colour and it tasted fruity with a light acidic tone. I enjoyed this after an evening meal and found it to be a light sort of red wine which I would certainly recommend.

Easy-drinking red
Hardy’s VR Shiraz is a really solid, easy-to-drink red wine. It has a nice fruity smell, with hints of blackberry and plum, and a little touch of spice. On the taste, it’s smooth and not too heavy, with a good balance of fruitiness and soft tannins.
It’s a great option for casual drinking or for pairing with food. I’d say it goes well with things like grilled meats, pasta, or a cheese board. For the price, it’s a really good deal—nothing too fancy, but definitely a wine that’s easy to enjoy.
