Game-changer for wound care

Mixed review
I received Elastoplast Second Skin Protection to test courtesy of Home Testers Club and I was excited to try them as I purchase Tegaderm dressings often due to a skin condition. The day I received these I had just got a fresh wound on my heel from wearing new shoes so I decided to test it on that. The plaster went on really easily and was a hood size so would easily cover larger wounds. The wound felt well protected and after a day the wound was surrounded by a white bubble which the leaflet explains is a healing bubble. It is definitely a new exciting product idea with clear benefits. Unfortunately by the second day, I'd had a bath and it started pealing off around the edges. I was quite disappointed as I was willing to switch from using Tegaderm to using this brand as it has more benefits. Unfortunately I will stick to what I already use. I may try them again in future if I can't get hold of my usual go to brand.

Great in theory but don't last
The dressing looks and sounds great in theory. However, she. I applied it to a small cut on my hand. It didn't even last 24hrs. I love the way it blends into your natural skin so it is not so noticeable that you are wearing a dressing. When I put it on I did get immediate relief from the stinging sensation from the cut. There was far too much dressing for the size of cut. I did have a small paper like cut in my finger. I was able to cut a bit of and apply to the finger but again it didn't even last 12hrs. I think if the dressing was applied somewhere with less movement such as leg or torso it would last longer. When it did fall off I did notice that it left a very nice 'film' over the cut which protected it for a few more hours (until I washed my hands). Overall brilliant idea but not for all body parts.

Elastoplast plasters.
Extra large plasters, perfect for grazed knees which we have a few of in our house! Plaster stayed on really well, didn’t irritate the skin and I think it did help with the speed of healing. We usually leave the graze to dry out naturally once cleaned but tried these plaster out and felt they were good!

Very impressed
I was very surprised at how well these healed my cut. They were waterproof and had a great grip once applied. I kept it on for as long as I could but it did start to peel around the edge after around 50 hours. I was still impressed as this is longer than a standard plaster. I would use these again / recommend them to anyone.

Great dressings
Absolutely fantastic dressings. I'm a nurse and they are on par with some of the dressings we use in the hospital. They do help heal the wound faster and they stay on. I've showered, bathed and went swimming and its stayed on just a tiny bit of fraying at the edges. They arr quite big though so the wound was still covered. Depending on the price I would definitely buy them for my first aid kit.

Used on Minor cut
only used on a very minor cut due to the limited testing time. It's an innovative design and look. It stuck well and did hold for several days, even after washing. I think a mixed size box would be more useful for us as these plasters were really large! I couldn't say either way if the healing was any quicker or not

Product seems good so far. Large size that stays in place when on. They are waterproof and don't come off or move around. Only 3 in box, not sure about fast healing yet but would try again.

A must for your first aid kit!
I had a blister on my heel, from wearing pretty but uncomfortable shoes to the Christmas party, that I was struggling to heal as whenever I wore shoes they would aggravate and irritate it. I put on the Elastoplast Second Skin protection dressing on and left it for 3 days! It didn’t peel or get those stick corners and it felt comfortable and secure. After three days it was practically healed. I popped another one on and didn’t need another! I’ll be looking for these to take on holiday as I get terrible blisters as mosquitoes like to feast on me and I react very badly. I think these will work perfectly and because I won’t need to change them daily I can take less!

Really comfortable
I was surprised how comfortable they were to wear. I found them really comfortable, and they stayed on for a good long time. I found they stay on even after a brief shower. I liked the size of the plaster, it was a decent size. That would cover most scrapes.

incredible!
i had injured my finger whilst shaving my face after it had stopped bleeding i had applied one of these too see if it would help or worsen it and overnight it had healed significantly and the difference between when i would leave it bear was amazing too see i will be using these again they are truly incredible!

Really feels like a second skin!
I loved how large the plasters were. My injury was medium-sized but these plasters would have covered a much larger area. I also liked how comfortable they felt on my skin - truly like a second skin! They can be used in the shower and don't fall off. It did a great job of protecting the injury and I felt like it healed faster.

Didn't stick well, so didn't last long
Didn't last long at all, the edges rolled up within an hour of putting on. Didn't see a difference in healing time.
