On opening the tin, the first thing I notice is the smell. Wow. Quite something. Our cat however hasn’t noticed and happily ate the lot. The food is thick and clearly very tasty.
Unfortunately my cat didn't like the food. I followed the instructions by added a small amount into her normal food with the intention of increasing as per instructions but she wouldn't eat it. After reducing the amount again to half a teaspoon mixed in , she still wouldn't eat it. I tried for a couple of days , reintroduce her back to her own food , which she ate. I left it a week, tried again but wouldn't eat it at all. So sorry but wouldn't risk her not eating at all. I've given the food 3 stars , even though my cat didn't eat it, my vet recommended the product and it did look and smell nice.
My cat has ckd and she is already eating the hills diet for ckd. So was really pleased to trail this new one. It’s comes like a pate version which is great as my cat is very old so it’s easier for her to eat it, although I add more water too it so it’s more runny. She is quiet fuss with food but she eats this one without a hesitation. It’s well packaged in tons so you can recycle them afterwards.
I’m not really sure what is the reason but my cat doesn’t really like this food. He goes and smells. First time he tried few bits, now he is not even bother
My cat was prescribed this to assist with his kidney function. It is easy to serve with ring pull can and soft mixture. I found that he was not too keen, either the smell or texture. However, if I mix with a small amount of warm water it is much better accepted.
It is good for helping his kidneys so we persevere

Lovely
As you can see in the picture, George's coat is clean and thick, he has much less shedding and a nice bright and vibrant colour. These tins are really good and rich in nutrients, however price wise they are very expensive. The tins i would not class as a portion of food. They are more like snack sizes. Get it if your cat needs fattening up, or a once in a while treat

Expensive but good for cats.
Hills is one of those brands recommended by vets. Although more expensive then regular food these are specifically for cats with medical problems. The cat seems to like it, it smells just as awful as any other wet cat food.
After my cat was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, the vet recommended the Hills Kidney care food. At first sight it looks appetising but my cat didn't like it at all. The pieces of meat are a bit too big for her and dry. When I mashed it up with the gravy to make it easier for her to eat, the texture looked awful and the pieces are pretty dry. She much prefers a different brand of special kidney care food. I wouldn't buy it again for her.
