Please note this review relates to the Pavillion Beef and Cheese Pies: the pastry had a sweet taste which didn't quite match the savoury filling. The Beef and cheese filling had a slight spice to it which was quite tasty but I found a bit of grissle which I did not like.
I really enjoyed them. The oozy cheese just makes it just about perfect. The only problem I did have was the pastry was a broken ip on the top

This review is for Pavillion Beef and Cheese Pies (not Mrs Macs as in the heading).
This pie has a lovely crisp pastry, was not overloaded with cheese and had very tasty good quality meat with no gristle or visible fat. However, I do not think it was worth the premium price over a competitives pie.
i was surprised by the delicious of the pie pastry as it's made by rice flour. Great taste of the contains even make me to eat another one immediately.
The pastry was better than I was expecting, the top crisped up nice but not rock hard like some alternatives.
The flavour of the mince was very reminiscent of small party savoury pies, so the quality of the mince I found questionable.
My biggest gripe was that the pie must be defrosted before cooking, so a bit impractical if you don't plan ahead.
Overall, better than other GF options, but doesn't come close to some of the better non GF pies.
Mrs Mac's pies have a tasty meaty filling. The filling is nice and chunky and definitely meaty. Very nice to eat. The cheese flavour does not come through but this is not a problem as the other flavours are so good.
The Pastry is light and tasty.
This pie is good and has a good amount of cheese, taste is ok,but this is an expensive product and in my opinion not worth the high price

Gluten Free Pie
I'm Gluten-Free Coeliac. Sadly there are not a lot of options for us, would like to see a lot more choice, there are so many different types of pies for everyone else.
However, I am grateful that there is something to buy, which gives me time off from cooking from scratch.
These pies are tasty, and handy to have in the freezer. Like all Gluten-Free food, more expensive than non-GF food.
I must admit, that my local Bakery, makes the best pies ever, however, they do cost more than Pavillion Pies.
This is a really nice product. it's easy and fast to prepare. There is a lot of meat in it which is really nice, and the pastry is soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Being gluten free, this is a nice option. on down side is that it is not a straight from the oven.
