The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

Many years ago, this was a holy grail for me, The Ordinary was the first to make a niacinamide that was affordable and accessible. The scientific literature and evidence for niacinamide is robust. It does what it says - moistening, brightening, repairing. But now niacinamide is so ubiquitous it’s in every other productive I don’t see the role for this when you could use a lovely serum and moisturiser that gives you the benefit of niacinamide and another active. Maybe if you just want to try niacinamide in isolation to see if it works for you; this is still a good choice, but the reality is that it pills and doesn’t play nice with a lot of the other steps in my skincare routine, and they all already contain niacinamide

I used to use this all the time, I don’t think it did much for my skin but it wasn’t awful, for reference I have oily and acne prone skin.

Was great for dark spots when used alone however it didn’t sit well when combined with the hyaluronic acid serum and started to pill on my face.

This product really helped clear up my acne and smoothe out my skin I always have it on hand.

This is a staple in my routine- I've been using this for years and it's very important for maintenance. It's nothing flashy or over the top, but it's gentle and has helped fade my hyperpigmentation.

Love this product and will continue to repurchase for the way it brightens my skin tone and reduces excess oil production. Additionally, the affordable price point makes it a good choice and I am impressed enough with this that I have stopped looking for another niacinamide and zinc serum completely!
