Pasta and metal tastes meh

Something seems to happen when cooked pasta is stored in sauce in a tin or foil bag. It loses all its integrity and almost always becomes some sort of flavourless mush - or tinned pumpkin soup with a handful of overcooked pasta thrown in. Maybe it would have been better to keep the pasta and sauce separate in some vacuum sealed plastic bags, to have it shelf stable AND still taste like pasta. It's a shame, because even cooking dried tortellini with no sauce would give a better result.

Not bad for quick work meal

I had this as a convenient work lunch as they don’t require refrigeration. I honestly wasn’t expecting much but I was surprised to find that they did actually taste like real food! The blue vein cheese flavour is pretty mild though so if you’re expecting that it didn’t quite hit it. The tortellini was pretty soft but stayed in shape and firm enough that it was still enjoyable to eat. The other flavours in the range have less sodium so I would probably opt for those with a higher health star rating personally. The only real downside for me is that it doesn’t reheat in the pack, so you do need to empty into a bowl or container - so remember to take one with you if your uni or workplace has microwaves but no bowls!

Full of Flavour

I loved this tortellini from Heinz was easy to prepare so creamy smooth and full of flavour Tortellini was perfect not mushy so delicious. Great for a quick lunch or entree for dinner.
