Mix it in™ Soft Serve Ice Cream Maker by Cuisinart® ICE-48

I enjoyed this soft serve ice cream maker so much! My 9 year old nephew had so much fun with me creating our own ice cream combinations. My choices of candy for the 3 compartments was Oreos, m&m’s and toffee bits.

I enjoyed using the Mix it in Soft Serve Ice Cream Maker by Cuisinart ICE-48 but it was a lot of work for something that I would only enjoy occasionally. The recipe for the vanilla soft serve was good (I put half as much more vanilla into it, as a preference) but it needed refrigeration after the machine blended (otherwise, the ice cream was too runny). I like that the add-ons (I used sprinkles and mini mm's) dispensed periodically so it would mix in properly and the chocolate topping was kept nice and warm in the cup. I think I would find more utility for it if I were an avid soft serve consumer but, as it is, I just find it cumbersome to use and take up valuable counter space. It's one of those contraptions you keep in the back of the closet and use once a year, if that. Last note, the compartments and lids for the add-ons/mix-ins are super loose and aren't tied down, they just stay in their slots if properly placed.

The theme with this product is too many steps... there's too many steps to set this up, to make the ice cream, and to clean the machine afterwards. With that said, if you use it and you wait patiently for the ice cream you can eat a freshly made dessert that tastes amazing! I would not personally go out of my way to buy one of these, but if I were receiving it as a gift I would love it and actually use it... because I have it. Overall it does a good job and it's fin to use and experiment with! I'm super happy with it!

It took me a few tries to finally master it but I enjoyed it. I made an almond ice cream. I was able to make two cones for my valet attendant and one for my front desk at my condo and also myself. Such a fun and great party idea.

I really enjoyed using this. It has been a great product to use as a family. My children have really like coming up with their own flavors and mix ins. It works pretty quickly to make icecream looking forward to trying it out to make other desserts and slushies.

We really love this product. We were so excited when we open the box and saw just how fancy this ice cream maker is. We love the included directions and recipes, which were very helpful to get us started. We love that we can keep all the toppings right there with the machine.

This ice cream maker was easy to use and has so many great features! The ice cream was soft and creamy and tasted delicious! The dispenser worked great and allowed the ice cream to come out perfect. The warmer on the side for caramel or chocolate syrup is so cool! It’s like making your own ice cream parlor at home. I filled the three topping containers and used them to mix in the ice cream. This machine is so much fun and a great addition to my kitchen.

I can’t believe how much I enjoy being able to make my own ice cream, and how extremely easy it is, actually! I never realized how five ingredients and about 30 minutes would change my outlook on dessert. The machine is simple to put together and get ready for use, and as long as you have the bucket in the freezer ahead of time, you can put your ingredients together and then pour them immediately into the bucket and switch it on. I love having the toppings on the side and being able to add them in as I open the spigot for the ice cream to come out. I had some initial trouble with the top clicking on and getting the stirrer out when the ice cream was done, but it’s really a matter of getting used to the machine. I found out that you don’t want to let the machine stop with the mixer still in place or it’s almost impossible to get it moving again if you need to keep mixing. All in all, this is going to get a lot of use in our house, and I’m excited to try more flavors than just vanilla!

This is a great ice cream machine that is fun for all! While the kids loved the mix ins with their ice cream, the grown ups really enjoyed the soft service ice cream. This is very easy to use and makes just the right amount of ice cream.

The quality of this ice cream maker is unbelievably superb! The ease of making soft serve ice cream is amazing! I not only made soft serve but I made sorbet, as well. The instructions were easy to understand and simple to follow. The condiment dispensers worked easily and are a great addition to the ice cream maker. There is also a cone holder! The ice cream turned out just perfect! It’s easy to clean. The design is beautiful and will match with any kitchen decor. A few recipes were included with the instructions! The freezer bowl is double insulated that holds 1.5 quarts of ice cream. This machine would be a hit at a kids birthday party. I’m so pleased with this ice cream maker!

My family love ice cream. Now I can use this machine to make tasty ice cream every week for my family. It is easy to mix up with any recipes I can imagine. And the best part is that I can control what ingredients are going in it. I have made several recipes with many fruit flavors. It was simply delicious, the texture was creamy and smooth. Now my family can enjoy yummy homemade ice cream every week.

The kids love this product. This ice cream maker gives me a lot of control of what can be added. It is a fun product for the entire family to enjoy. It is bulky on the countertop but other than that, the product is unique and amazing.

This is a super fun machine that with a few tweaks, would be perfect! It’s lightweight & easy to assemble, store, & move around. Making the ice cream did come w/ a big learning curve. The first few times the machine wouldn’t dispense the product because it was too hard. It’s difficult to time when everything is at the best consistency, but you get a feel for it eventually, even though the optimal window is pretty quick. While you can just scoop the ice cream out if you do over-churn it, it’s not easy. You either leave the frozen bowl in the top of the machine, making it awkward to scoop, or you take the bowl out. However, there is a hole in the bottom, so it just melts on the countertop & makes a mess. I wish there was a stopper you could put in to prevent this from happening. The handle can also be difficult to open & close, especially one handed. I would like something more aesthetically pleasing (& functional) like a metal handle w/ smoother motion. When it all works, it’s great!
