Affordable drug store toner

This purple toning mask made by John Frieda is affordable and available at most local grocery and/or drug stores. I have used this brand in the past for other products know they make quality hair care items. This toning mask works as expected and is truly a “purple” toning agent. So be careful when applying this product as it will stain other things it comes in contact with other than your hair, if left on long enough. But definitely give it a try because it works!

A MUST HAVE for blondes

Bought this as need it to neutralize the ashy color in my blonde hair. You do NOT need a lot of product. Use for the amount told or trial and error. PLEASE consult your hair stylist if you should be using a violet/ purple shampoo with your hair tone type. NOT ALL BLONDES need to be using this. I love this and it works great on my hair. For myself i shampoo my hair with my regular shampoo FIRST that way i dont use more than needed of the purple/violet shampoo. Then I shampoo with this purple / violet shampoo and for myself and my tone of blonde I leave on ,y hair for 5 minutes then I rinse and condition. This CAN and will stain hairline, ears and hands and nails so make sure to rinse and wash off good but you may still have stains on your hands and nails just to warn. Will re purchase as love this brand. Product image and description are correct

Great toner

I use to be a hair stylist so I’m kind of a hair product snob. Someone recommended this product to me and it worked so much better than I predicted. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that with bleach blonde hair it isn’t as moisturizing as I need. I have dry hair to begin with though and the bleach on top of that makes me need a lot of moisture.

Great product for a small price !

John Frida must be the best at dealing with blonde hair… I have never had any issues with ANY products they release for blonde hair and this one is no different! Exceeding my expectations and then some. This toning mask/conditioner did WONDERS in fixing the brassy color my hair decided it wanted to change to. After two uses of this, my blonde was blonde again, not YELLOW. I highly recommend this product if you’re looking to get rid of brassy colors in your hair.

Perfect for maintaining blonde

Love this product to help revive my blonde highlights between salon visits. I can extend the life of my hair and makes my hair look like it was fresh from highlights. I recommend this

Top 5 to help tone

This is one of my top 5 products to help tone my hair and keep brass away. It only takes a few mins in the shower to make a difference. Use it daily and it keeps your hair from ever looking brassy! 10/10

Fair Choice

Not one of my favorites, but will still somewhat work. It's affordable and will at least help prevent more yellowing.

Good purple shampoo

I used this to brighten my blonde hair. It does its job leaving my hair brighter and lighter. Purple shampoo can be very drying so a good moisturizing conditioner is a great idea when using these products.

JF Purple Toning Mask Review

John Frieda's purple toning hair mask is one of the best purple toning hair products I have used to get rid of the brassiness in my hair`. The purple shampoo and conditioner work great as well. It didn't take long at all for the brass to be gone and my hair to be the color and tone I wanted to acheive when I initially bleached it.

Affordable and consistent

Just like the title says it is an affordable product that is consistent in quality and effectiveness. It’s the best drugstore toning mask I’ve ever used! If you want to spend 2-3 times what this mask cost, you’ll probably find a better toning mask, but not that much better. John Frieda has always made quality, affordable products in my opinion and this mask is no different. I bleach my hair so of course I’m prone to yellowing and damage. I don’t have to worry about how well it’s going to work, using it beyond recommended time, etc etc. I just use this mask, the yellow is mostly or all gone and my hair overall looks and feels nicer. There’s nothing else to say

Works well on Grey hair

I have naturally Grey hair that still has some brassy/darker tones on the underside of my hair. I use this to brighten the tone and bring out the silver highlights. Great product but can be a little drying. Definitely follow up with a good leave-in conditioner.

Toned lace

I would say it did a good job with toning. I used it to neutralize the color after I bleached knots in a wig. I ran out of blue so I had this as back up. You do have to leave it a little longer, but it gets the job done.
