I love the pastel colored rainbow on this Vaults locking pencil case. The size is handy for more than just pencils. It is great for jewelry, makeup, craft items, photos.... It is sturdy and looks cute on a desk or shelf. I feel the lock is more to ensure that the items stay put if the case is dropped versus someone unwanted opening it but it works and I bet little ones would find it a fun feature.

My daughter (age 5) loved seeing this shiny and beautiful box when I opened up the delivery. She immediately rushed to fill with her favorite art supplies and enjoys the idea of locking them away from the option of a sibling borrowing them without consent! From a usage perspective, it would be "handy" if there was a handle for the box to carry around so that she would carry it for outdoor drawing sessions or without having to put in a bag to carry to school. The lock can also be a bit tricky as the inner portion swivels around on it's own and the key will not go in if it is not aligned correctly. As a result, she needs an adult around to open it most of the time. Despite this, I think this is a good option for a gift or to have one for each child so that they can a special place for items that they would prefer not to share.

My daughter loves unicorn, and this pencil case is perfect for her. It’s a strong case and very durable so it will last long it has pocket inside and a key for the lock which my daughter loves.
